The 2020 Toyota Supra makes a grand reappearance after a twenty-year absence. There was a lot of anticipation for this car. Would it look good? Would it stay true to the Supra legacy? Would it handle the curves and deliver performance? Yes, yes, and yes.
Just look at this thing. It’s long and low with broad rear haunches and more curb appeal than any single car has a right to possess. People stopped me in parking lots, and I met the new neighbors who simply had to get a closer look. It’s a sexy little machine.
A 3.0-liter turbocharged 6-cylinder engine delivering 335 horsepower backs up that charm. Whatever speed you’re aiming for, it doesn’t take long to get there. Handling is tight and responsive, and you most definitely will want to make time for some track driving.
The inside is comfortable but not spacious. Two adults have plenty of legroom, but limited headroom and very heavy seat bolstering can squeeze a body. Getting in and out will be challenging for some since the Supra is so low to the ground. But who cares? Just stay in the car and take another lap around the block.
