If you’re looking for an all-wheel drive sedan, the 2020 Toyota Camry AWD is making a comeback for the first time in nearly 30 years.

The 2020 Toyota Camry AWD is only available in the U.S. It’s powered by the 2.5-liter, 4-cylinder powerplant that puts out 202 horsepower in lower trims or 205 horsepower in the highest XSE trim. Toyota won’t offer the system on its V6 version of the Camry.

The AWD Camry uses the same system as the popular RAV4, providing a solid, secure planted feel when tested on slick snow tracks and icy roads. The Dynamic Torque Control AWD system directs up to 50% of the engine torque to the rear wheels when needed on a slippery road or during quick acceleration. The system disengages at highways speeds, keeping the 2020 Toyota Camry fuel-efficient.

Camry AWD gets the winter package with heated seats and mirrors at the LE trim. Higher trims get a heated steering wheel.

Toyota is committed to making its best-selling sedan more appealing to buyers in snowy climates by adding an innovative AWD system to give drivers more confidence in wintery conditions. The Camry AWD delivers on this commitment.
