Driving the 2019 Mazda6 sedan is markedly different than an SUV. I take advantage of the sedan’s low center of gravity with a sharp turn through the twisties. The 2.5-liter turbo 4-cylinder engine powers through, a testament to Mazda’s zoom-zoom heritage.

Mazda makes a solid sedan in the 2019 Mazda6. It’s well-equipped with a suite of safety and driver-assist technologies, so there’s a sense of capability and security for driver and passenger. The exterior is modern and appealing without being overwrought.

The interior of the Mazda6 is modern with an 8” infotainment display, although I prefer an integrated center console screen. Premium Nappa leather combined with heated and cooled seats delivers an upscale look and feel, something Mazda’s been working on the last few years.

Achieving a comfortable driving position is easy in the Mazda6, and visibility is good, despite a steeply sloping rear window. The Mazda’s cabin is comfortable and spacious with room for four adults or five good friends.

The Mazda6 may not turn heads like a flashy sports car, but it’s also not going to look trendy in ten years. If you’re shopping for a mid-size sedan, it’s deserving of your consideration.
