The Acura NSX is an Ohio-built triple threat: blessed with good looks, a musical exhaust note, and the ability to act its way out of twisty plot turns. 

Relaunched in 2016 nearly thirty years after the first one, the new NSX delivers a wide, planted driving experience, hugging turns like a girlfriend. The 3.5L V6 longitudinally mounted mid-engine is mated to a nine-speed double clutch tranny and screams down the highway. Producing 573 horsepower, the NSX top speed is 191 MPH. 

The bespoke hybrid engine means the NSX alternately roars like a lion or purrs like a kitten, stealthily creeping down the street, hunting for the best roads. Four on-the-fly driving modes provide a complete experience, with “Quiet” keeping the neighborhood peaceful. Sport and Sport Plus revs the engine faster and settles the NSX into its true comfort zone: tight and fast. The Track mode is for, well, the track. The flat-bottom and top steering wheel commemorates the car’s roots.

Whether running errands or pushing limits, the NSX is a worthy companion. The only downside is a lackluster center console and painfully outdated infotainment system. But hey, that’s not why you buy the NSX, which you should do. Right now.
